When outside is too hot and vegetables in your garden are growing up so delicious, give thanks and enjoy ๐! Caprese salad is world known. When you figure a caprese salad you can see the Italian’s flag colors : green white and red๐ฎ๐น. Traditionally is made with tomatoes ๐
mozzarella and basil ๐ฟ. I didn’t have ๐ฟ basil ( I used all to make my basil pesto ๐) and instead I used stir-fry zucchini.
Ingredients
- 1 to 2 ripe tomatoes ๐
- 1 mozzarella ( I used a buffalo mozzarella)
- 2 to 3 small zucchini
- Salt ๐ง
- Oregano ๐ฟ
Method
One important thing to have an amazing caprese salad is use ingredients at room temperature. Take outside from the fridge your tomatoes and the mozzarella 15 minutes before (let soak in his water). I keep tomatoes directly from the plant when I want eat them but if you have to buy at your grocery store You better choose organic tomatoes. Basically You have to do nothing except wash well the tomatoes ๐
, cut them and seasoning with salt and extra virgin olive oil.
I had make also stir-fry zucchini simply cutting into thin slices and cooking them in a large saucepan with 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and seasoning with salt and oregano ๐ฟ .
๐It’s very important use good quality ingredients when you prepare a dish so simple.
